French immersion for all language backgrounds

Who we are

La Petite École is the only full-day French enrichment preschool in Bloor West Village.

We are a licensed preschool that offers a full-day program for children between ages 2–5. We provide a comfortable learning environment for children who are new to the French language or francophone.

Philosophy

Scientific evidence shows that second languages are best acquired before the age of five. Through interactive play that engages all five senses, children learn French through gradual adaptation — all while having fun with other kids!

"I find great joy in the shared journey of language learning with our students. Being an active co-learner fuels my passion for exploring languages together."

Mme/Ms. Anaïs

Anaïs was born in the west of France, where she completed a diploma in education in Paris. She has worked at La Petite École since 2016 and previously for many years with children from ages 2 to 14 years old. Mme/Ms. Soleil

Head Educator & Registered Early Childhood Educator

Soleil completed her education in French, earning her ECE diploma at Collège La Cité and is currently pursuing a BA at York University. Before joining La Petite École, she was a Program Director at PLASP and an RECE at the YMCA. With her name meaning "sun" in French, Soleil brings warmth and brightness to our programs.

"The most rewarding part of my work is watching children grow and thrive, while being part of a community where parents are genuinely involved and invested in their child's journey."

Mme/Ms. Erica

Community Manager & Early Childhood Assistant

Erica received her degree in Radio & Television Broadcasting at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson). She is a French supply teacher, freelance bilingual voice-over artist, and on-air talent. She is a former parent at La Petite École and has since worked at the school for nine years.

"As a proud Franco-Ontarian, it was a privilege for my son to be a student at La Petite École, and I'm delighted to be a part of this incredible team; the school is a gem in the community."

Mme/Ms. Joceline
