Frequently Asked Questions

Can I sign up for any weeks during the summer?

Yes! La Petite École offers themed sessions throughout the summer, and families are welcome to register for one or multiple weeks.

For our youngest campers (under 4 years old), we strongly recommend a minimum of two consecutive weeks. This allows children time to settle into the environment, build relationships with peers and educators, and benefit more fully from the program.

What is the schedule for the program?

Each day, children enjoy themed projects and explorations, two snacks and a shared lunch, nap or quiet rest for younger campers / community excursions for kindergarten-age students, and plenty of outdoor play.

  • Gentle arrival with free play
  • Morning outdoor time and theme-based activities
  • Shared lunch together
  • Afternoon rest or excursions, followed by snack
  • More outdoor play and project work before pick-up

Designed to feel calm, playful, and perfectly paced for summer ☀️

What are the drop-off and pick-up times?

To support a predictable day for young children—and in keeping with our licensed and regulated program requirements—drop-off takes place during our arrival window from 8:00–9:00 a.m. The core camp day runs from 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Pick-up is between 3:00–3:55 p.m or extended care is available until 5:30 p.m. for families who have registered.

What is the deadline to register?

Summer camps are on a first-come, first-served basis, so register now!

How much French is spoken during the day?

French is woven naturally into play, songs, and daily routines throughout the day, and no prior French is required. For some children, summer camp is a gentle introduction to French before kindergarten; for others, it’s a way to stay connected to the language.

All educator-led, structured moments take place in French. At the same time, all language backgrounds are welcome, and your child’s well-being always comes first. Educators will use English as needed to support comfort, engagement, and safety—especially during their first days.

Are lunch and snacks provided?

Yes! Daily catered lunch and two snacks are included in the camp fees. The menu is nutritious and allergy-safe. You’ll be able to see the lunch and snack menu, posted weekly on the window, when you visit the school.

What does the fee include and what is your cancellation policy?

Fees • $625 per week • $500 for shorter weeks with statutory holidays

Tuition is all-inclusive, covering:

  • qualified educators (approx. 5:1 ratio)
  • catered lunch and two nutritious snacks
  • all excursions and special activities, and
  • professionally laundered nap/rest bedding.

Payment: A 25% non-refundable deposit secures your spot (first come, first served). Remaining balance and registration documents are due by June 1st.

No refunds for missed days due to illness, travel, or schedule changes. We encourage families to register only for weeks they feel confident they can attend - you know the gist!
